I continue to be concerned about the governing and administrative process in the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. Suddenly, there is a lot of controversy distracting from orderly process and rational decision-making. It is our public school system, and we should pay attention for the future of our community and the future of our children..
There is another important special board meeting this Thursday, 2/22 at 5pm at the District Offices. Strong community presence will go a long way in showing the board that we support our Bond Issue for our CHILDREN and our STAFF. Especially the first part before the board goes into the workshop mode if your time is limited.
There is a continuing issue about purchasing land for a new school building. Janey Humphries delivered prepared comments at one meeting which are below and also posted on board docs under communications. Click on the symbol next to Brenda's name. At the next meeting, Dr. Winn made a very long statement at the following meeting which was published in The Call, Feb. 16 and is available on the KCKPS YouTube channel.
If you can attend the meeting this Thursday, it would help. If you can pass this along to others who may be interested, that would also help.
This Blog is being generated by a group of citizens invited by USD 500 to participate as a Citizen's Advisory Committee during the Bond Issue campaign. This group continues to be involved in supporting USD 500 and watching the results from the successful Bond election. This Blog is best read from the bottom/oldest post to the to/newest post.
