A post was made on this blog yesterday about some rumors circulating through the community. That post got one response that should be shared widely. This blog is all about having conversations about our school district and all ideas/comments are welcome. The person making the comment asked that the previous post be removed but the choice was made to highlight the other side of the conversation instead.....keep commenting and sharing as that is how we will all add light instead of heat to the conversation.....Here is the comment:
Concerned has just posted a comment on your blog post, It is "Rumor" Time Again: I’ve been supportive and shared a lot since this mess began in January, but this post needs to be deleted. It will just scare people for no reason. Foust wanted the office to be more secure, so there weren’t random members of the public just walking in and sitting down in people’s offices. That actually happens. They don’t record anything, except when you press the button. Then it rings department staff to let you in or speak with you over the intercom. I would have just fired whichever receptionist was just letting random people in the building without verifying where they were going or if they had an appointment. That’s where the accountability should have landed. The cameras and buzzers were unnecessary if the receptionists are doing their jobs. As for 2nd floor, they didn’t need to be here anyway. They should be in the buildings working with teachers and students. There isn’t enough room in the central office building for the functions that actually need to be housed there. Much of the 2nd floor staff doesn’t need to be there and 1st floor is taken up by a big “library” no one ever goes to. A very necessary change.
